Sea Turtle
White wind glances off her heart-shaped shell
Clutches buried, cool and damp
Belly-smoothed trail behind her
Pale paddles splayed in sugar sand
She raises her head and lumbers to the sea
Blue green waters
Undulate
Lipping the shoreline
Prehistoric waters lift her heft
The ancestral birth place ebbs
As nest robbers scoop her leathery eggs
Into plastic bags
