Voices combines the force of many arts
to become one stronger and more purposeful art. As a unifier,
creativity knits together people and communities, strengthening
human dignity. Our grassroots organization is made up of artists
who build multi - media projects that promote international
and intercultural understanding.
We believe in independent thinking and
so act as a conduit, extending voices of under represented
populations. As we see all things in this world as connected,
we are interested in developing understanding between people
and awareness of our surroundings. We aim to do this by relating
past foundations, exploring our present existance, and equating
future consequence.
As people speak best for themselves,
it is important to let them do so directly. In order to retain
a non - imposing atmosphere, communities invite participation.
In forming cohesive group work, emphasis is placed on bringing
together people who will benefit in learning from each other's
history, culture, and creative processes. Directly relevant
to those involved, themes are based on common concerns. Processes
shift and are allowed to grow organincly, following dynamics
of a particular group. Everyone works to fuse creative processes
and cross disciplinary boundaries in order to develop a language
that fully explores the chosen theme. Projects are built with
sustainability in mind.
Individual artists who share our concerns
are also featured here. We hope to help them broaden the repetoir
in today's media to reflect conditions of life now.
All those involved in Voices share a
similar aspirance to educate. In respectful and sincere environments,
people attain understanding as much through process as through
the product. Presentations focus on expanding the public's
mind.
Nebulous by nature and based virtually,
Voices remains open to new ideas of how to reach across borders
to raise awareness of our connection. We seek a balance between
being locally responsive and internationally proactive in
order to promote positive social and environmental evolution.
